Cherimi: Rainbow Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin

Hey guys, long time no chat. Can you believe we're already in October? I feel like the year is just flying past me. So much to do so little time. I've been struggling my ass off trying to find a good way to manage my time. I suck at time management. I feel like I'm always on a schedule. I wake up, get ready for work, 30-40mins later I'm at my desk somewhat ready to attack my 9 hr day. After work I usually go straight home, shower, watch soaps, watch anime, talk to my bestie at 9, watch more anime, then fall aslp watching King of the Hill or Family Guy on Adult Swim, then do it all over again the next day. Lame right? Somewhere between showering and falling aslp I need to find time for blogging. I've really been considering selling merchandise on my blog but I think I need more recurring visitors for that, and for more visitors means more blogging right?

If you guys have any suggestions on how you think I could better manage my time please comment. I would appreciate your advice and would love to know how you all manage your time.

Two days ago, a friend of mine suggested I check out an anime called Rainbow.

Me: Rainbow? Just the name makes me not want to watch it..Sounds kinda whack actually
Friend: Oh and the name "Bleach" doesn't? You watch that don't you?

The fool had a point so I just shut my mouth and agreed. That afternoon instead of watching my soaps I decided to check out this Rainbow.

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin

Synopsis

Seven teenagers in 1955 have to learn to live together in the same hold in the reformatory of Shio. Confined in a hall where suffering and humiliation are daily, they are waiting for a ray of hope in a dark, incarcerating world. The story follows their life together and how they move on afterwards.

Episodes: 26

Cherimi's Opinion

This anime is very depressing but also very rewarding in the end. I would not recommend this anime to everyone. Rainbow depicts human cruelty, greed, abuse (physical and mental), drugs, hatred, suicide, discrimination and all the negativity that society burdens onto one another. In contrast, it also displays loyalty, hope, the bonds of friendship, love, etc. Its just an emotional rollercoaster ride. My heart raced throughout every one of these 22min episodes. I found myself being emotionally connected to these characters, rooting for their success and happiness every step of the way. Though this anime was hard to watch for someone like me, I must say I'm very happy I gave it a shot. I really enjoyed this anime, and it was very refreshing to view a somewhat realistic anime w/ characters going through problems that alot of people face everyday. It presented rational solutions to these situations, never once leaving you unsatisfied.
The first episode was enough to keep me wanting more. I was captivated. My trembling fingers leading the mouse to click the next episode. Trembling? Yes, b/c I was so scared and anxious to see what was going to happen next. You're constantly on your toes, never knowing what to expect. In the beginning nothing works out for these 7 young men, nothing goes their way and yet they still seem to find strength and happiness w/in each other.
After watching this, I could only wish I am able to have never ending bonds of friendship like they do. Some people are blessed w/ one or two but each of them have 6 life long friends. I'm so envious.

So if you're able to handle explicit scenes like severe beatings, rape and just out right cruelty, please watch this anime. I promise that you won't regret it. I truly believe that there is noone that could watch this w/out going through every emotion w/ these characters, regardless of your gender.

I also loved the opening theme!!

Please do not compare this anime to Bleach/Naruto/Reborn/OnePiece or any anime that is similar to those. Rainbow is in a different genre. I was so annoyed reading the comments some people posted trying to compare these animes. You cannot do that when each genre presents totally different aspects of our world. One portrays the supernatural, whereas the other focuses on real life events that have taken place and how people overcome these trails and tribulations and succeed. Its almost like comparing different music genres:  R&B and Country.

Enjoy <333

If you have watched it comment, let me hear what you think.
