Marvel and DC Encyclopedia

I had to do a blog on these two Encyclopedias. I picked these up last Christmas (2008) at the Borders bookstore. I was so excited when I first saw them, I was literally going crazy I just had to get it. I have gone through both encyclopedias and now decided to do a review (state my own opinions) about them.

The Marvel Encyclopedia
Marvel Encyclopedia

The DC Comic Encyclopedia
Photobucket

Both books contain a list of most of their superheroes, villians, and other miscellaneous characters. Each character has his/her own personal bio, including stats such as real name, height, weight, eye color, hair, age, occupation, abilities, base, first appearance, etc.

Pros:
1. Contains a great index where you can easily look-up any hero or villian.
2. Great stats
3. Contains a large quantity of heros and villians
4. Fantastic artwork. Clear and brilliant images.

Cons:
1. Short, glossed over bios on some important people but large emphasized bios on some miscellaneous characters.

Overall I would say its a great book especially for comic book beginners and a great keepsake for die hard comic readers, though they may be disappointed by some of the bios.
